Barstool Sportsbook UFC 273 Promo

Do you like title fights? How about high-stakes number-one-contender fights? Barstool Sportsbook is offering a free bet up to $1000 on the fight if your first bet doesn’t connect. It’s a 2-for-1 Barstool Sportsbook promo.

Cool. Because UFC 273 is loaded with all of the above. Atop the card, UFC featherweight king Alexander Volkanovski faces “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung, while one fight earlier bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling will rematch interim champ, Petr Yan

That alone is probably enough to perk up your ears, but check this out:

  • Gilbert Burns vs. Khamzat Chimaev
  • Tecia Torres vs. Mackenzie Dern
  • Vinc Pichel vs. Mark Madsen

If you’d rather take the latest DraftKings promo, bet $5 win $100, get that here.

That’s the rest of the main, pay-per-view portion of the UFC 273 fight card. Oh yes, ladies and gentlemen. This card flat-out rules –– and it also gives you plenty of opportunities to make some cheddar.

That is, if you know where to look.

Let’s examine this UFC 273 fight card from a betting perspective in our Volkanovski vs. The Korean Zombie betting preview with odds, picks, and predictions.

UFC 273 Main Event Odds

Here is the current line for Volkanovski vs. The Korean Zombie at Barstool Sportsbook:

Moneyline: Volkanovski (-720); The Korean Zombie (+500)

Over/Under rounds: 4.5 (Over -145)

UFC 273 Betting Prediction

Yeah, it turns out Volkanovski –– the 23-1 champion who has never lost inside the UFC Octagon –– is pretty well respected by sportsbooks. Who knew? The Barstool sportsbook promo can protect you from any upsets, too.

He defended his UFC featherweight title twice already, and the oddsmakers expect him to do it again Saturday in Jacksonville, establishing him as a heavy favorite for his main-event tilt against The Korean Zombie.

And while there’s no doubt the Korean Zombie is a dangerous fighter with both knockout power on the feet and some slick submissions once the fight hits the canvas, I gotta say…

The UFC 273 Bets We Love

The Korean Zombie to win (+500 – DraftKings)

The Korean Zombie to win by TKO  (+1000 – DraftKings)

Volkanovski is rightly the massive favorite, and there’s not much value in taking him here. Yes, you can bet Volkanovski to win via submission at +1000, but he hasn’t finished a fight via submission since 2015, while the Korean Zombie hasn’t tapped out in a fight since … ever.

So even though my brain tells me Volkanovski wins this fight, my betting brain tells me the only move here is to spend a little to win a lot on that Korean Zombie knockout bomb that shocks the world.

Obviously, don’t play this as part of a parlay, but if you want to cash out exponentially on the UFC 273 main event, this is the move.

The Korean Zombie is exactly the kind of dangerous foe who could catch the champion and shut out the lights. It’s not likely, but this is MMA, and Volkanovski has been dropped on the feet in past contests. This is the only move on the main event I’d feel comfortable making.

Bonus UFC 273 Bet We Love

Alright, so what bets do we actually like on this card? I’m glad you asked.

  • Raquel Pennington vs. Aspen Ladd will not end in a finish, method of victory – decision (-300)

To be clear here, this bet doesn’t involve picking the winner. That’s tough to do in this one. But I’m reasonably confident neither fighter finds the finish, and this one winds up on the judges’ scorecards. Bet Raquel Pennington vs. Aspen Ladd method of victory: decision at UFC 273 and feel good about your choice.

  • Mackenzie Dern def. Tecia Torres (-125)

Mackenzie Dern stumbled in her most recent outing against Marina Rodriguez, but the same challenges of footwork, range, and precise stand-up won’t exist from Tecia Torres in this one. Torres is a much shorter, more compact opponent, and while she’s well-rounded everywhere, she doesn’t have that one dynamic skill that should threaten Dern. I expect the Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace Dern to get back on track in this one. Bet her to win at UFC 273.

  • Mark Madsen def. Vinc Pichel, method of victory: decision (+215)

This is a tough call, but Mark Madsen’s wrestling and control is tough to ignore. Vinc Pichel is on a nice three-fight winning streak and is no easy out for anyone, but I expect Madsen’s grappling and, particularly, his top control to be the difference here. I see him taking Pichel to the mat and grinding out a decision victory at UFC 273.

  • Josh Fremd def. Anthony Hernandez, method of victory: KO/TKO (+250)

UFC newcomer Josh Fremd will make a splash in his promotional debut. A grappling-based fighter with power on the feet, Fremd will overwhelm Anthony Hernandez early and get the KO/TKO finish.

  • Not betting Aljamain Sterling vs. Petr Yan

I know, I know. No fun. But sorry. I’m not touching this one. Both men are ridiculously well-rounded, they both look to be in the best shape of their lives, and they’re both dangerous everywhere a fight goes. This is the matchup I’m most excited for at UFC 273 –– but I’m not putting any money down in any way on it. I suggest you do the same.
