Dan’s Daily Links: NHL Trade Rumors Devils-Bruins, Tampa-Ristolainen?

NHL Trade Rumors Rasmus_Ristolainen_-_Buffalo_Sabres

The Boston Bruins are in a similar position to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Each has unrestricted free agents they must sign and the easiest way to get the cap space is via trade. The NHL trade rumors are also warming around the Tampa Bay Lightning and the potential to acquire Rasmus Ristolainen. Stanley Cup-winning goalie Jordan Binnington got paid, and we must share a fantastic story from our brethren at Colorado Hockey Now.

It makes perfect sense. The New Jersey Devils need an experienced, blood and guts guy. The Boston Bruins need to shed salary. The two have reportedly talked about David Backes (Boston Hockey Now)

First overall pick Jack Hughes shined during New Jersey’s Development Camp, and he signed a max ELC (

Kaapo Kakko also signed his ELC with the New York Rangers.

Where’s the money, Lebowski? Jordan Binnington is getting a little bit of his share. If he has another big year and that contract value will double. (St. Louis Post Dispatch)

An awesome story which has inspired us here at Pittsburgh Hockey Now. Our sister site–Colorado Hockey Now–made a pledge. As the Colorado Avalanche (after some deliberations) awarded them beat status and requested CHN travel for road games, we set up a travel tip jar which donates 5% of the proceeds to the local food bank.

Adrian Dater has been killing it with CHN, and this week he made his first food bank delivery. Awesome! (Colorado Hockey Now)

Pittsburgh Hockey Now is making a pledge right now—All subscriptions received this month will also mean a 5% donation to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food¬† Bank.

Here is the first article you can subscribe to—The Weekend One-Timers: The Pittsburgh Penguins are Stronger and Stuck. It’s a bit of dirt, some fun, and a little poke, too–we hope you’ll join. And now– it helps a good cause, too. (Pittsburgh Hockey Now)

The Dallas Stars are trying to trade young blueliner Julius Honka (Dallas Morning News)

Are the Tampa Bay Lightning looking at young defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen? (The Athletic)

Why all of the young defensemen on the market?

The Anaheim Ducks signed Michael Del Zotto to a one-year deal (TSN)

Tyson Barrie wants $8 million per season. Is that so wrong? Kris Letang doesn’t make as much. (Sportsnet)

If somehow without being stripped bare the Pens could score Risto, I’m all for that!

The Bruins are a joke, stuck with another LOUSY contract from Dummy Sweeney and they will have to give more to rid themselves of this awful contract
