Evgeni Malkin is carrying the Pittsburgh Penguins even as he jokingly chided Pittsburgh media that it’s only three games into the season. The Penguins’ bottom six is decidedly not carrying their share of the offensive burden yet. The Vancouver Canucks are working the NHL trade market to move Conor Garland, and Elliotte Friedman had the details on what they want. The Philadelphia Flyers will weaponize their cap space on the trade market, and multiple significant media members wondered if Steve Stamkos could wind up with the Boston Bruins.

I always enjoy a couple of days in D.C., and I enjoy the little dive bar at the bottom of my cheap downtown hotel. I watched a portion of the Broncos vs. Chiefs on Thursday night.

The Chiefs won easily, and Broncos quarterback Russel Wilson struggled. A couple of Broncos fans and the Philadelphia-born bartender came to an agreement about Wilson.

“At least he’s not Kenny Pickett!” they yelled.

Yikes. On with the hockey…
