(PODCAST) No Pucks Given: Eller Trade, Next Steps, & Live Reaction
The Pittsburgh Penguins have had a humdinger of a week, and it’s only Wednesday. The embarrassing loss to the Dallas Stars on Monday was only the beginning as general manager Kyle Dubas then traded Lars Eller to the Washington Capitals for a 2027 third-round pick and Chicago’s 2025 fifth-round selection.
It was an underwhelming trade haul, according to PHN’s Dan Kingerski. The podcast began there and was off like a rocket. Coach Francis Anzalone joined the show (9:30) and provided some insights from the inside out, including what the Penguins must do to rebound from the disastrous loss, how to gain consistency, and some insights on the roster construction.
From there, viewers and PHN readers took over (30:00). What about trading Erik Karlsson? Is the rebuilding beginning, who else is on their way out the door, and what comes next? A couple of readers also put Dan to the test on past analysis. It’s all in the new (and soon-to-be-renamed) podcast. You can view the video on our YouTube channel above, or get the audio version (without Dan’s facial expressions to underscore some sarcasm), on the platforms below.
