Penguins Live Chat: Physical Players and Big Names on NHL Trade Market

pittsburgh penguins trade, live chat

There is an increasing number of bigger, physical players who are or who could hit the NHL trade market, and those players could help the Pittsburgh Penguins.

But the Penguins would have to sacrifice one or more talented pieces in a trade or to clear enough salary cap space to make it happen.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now Editor-in-Chief Dan Kingerski dives into the new names on the NHL trade market who could look great in a Pittsburgh Penguins sweater, from Mathew Tkachuk to Gabriel Landeskog and Rasmus Ristolainen.

The Penguins’ offseason has been quiet so far, but we’re one month from the NHL Draft and less than one month from the Seattle Kraken expansion draft. Free agency begins on July 28.

The live chat begins at 1 p.m., or thereabouts. You know Dan is always fumbling with a few of the controls or fussing with the studio right up until the last possible moment (you’d think he spent 20 years in radio?)

Watch, like, share, discuss, debate, have fun!

I should schedule them days in advance. Except when I do, something always comes up. So, I do them when I see a hole in the schedule. Sorry!

I liked your broadcast. I wish I knew about it earlier so I could have asked this question.. Do you think Hextall will have any interest in Evander Kane who is said to potentially be available from San Jose? He always seemed to have incredible talent (his attitude was something to be desired).

Glad you didn’t ask it live. I’ve been thinking about it. Going back and forth. I’m currently working back channels to find out what the hell happened in San Jose.

Kane is a divisive player who might fit the Penguins on the ice but they only trade for people who also fit on the ice and in the room.

Linus Ullmark is a big goalie with strong stats on a bad Buffalo team. He was 9 – 6 – 3 with a .917 save % will cost about $ 3million a year.

Expose Jarry in the draft and hope Seattle bits…

Dan….You are correct Risto is a career minus player and not worth the last year of a $5.4 million deal. Nikita Zadorov of the Blackhawks is 26, 6ft 5, 230 pounds, nasty, and a skilled skater and passer on the last deal of a $3.2 million dollar deal. He is rumored to be on the block with the Blackhawks looking heavily in to Defenseman Set Jones and Dougie Hamilton. With Seabrook now on LTR and no word on Jonathan Toews even returning they are under the cap could take Jason Zucker in return.. Zadorov is a beast he is Ulf… Read more »
