Penguins Giveaway Schedule; Crosby Malkin, & Letang Bobbleheads!

The Pittsburgh Penguins have a few more cool giveaways this season. The team released its promotional schedule Friday, and, yes, you will get bobbleheads.

If you grew up like me, the giveaway schedule was a big deal. My father always made sure we got tickets on t-shirt jersey night. For a 10-year-old, getting a Mario Lemieux jersey was pretty cool, even if it had a small Long John Silvers logo and was made of cotton.

Fans can get tickets from Ticketmaster.

This season, the Penguins will giveaway bobbleheads of the core three players, Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Kris Letang. The team will also borrow a long-standing preseason tradition and move it to the regular season — Youth Hockey Night will be on April 11.

I can already hear the high-pitched cheering.

Jan. 6 will be Sidney Crosby bobblehead night. The Penguins host the Buffalo Sabres.

Jan. 27 will be Evgeni Malkin bobblehead night when the Penguins host the Montreal Canadiens.

A few weeks later, Feb. 22, also against Montreal, will be Kris Letang bobblehead night.

March 26 against Carolina will be the Pride game. After multiple controversies last season, NHL teams aren’t expected to wear specialty warmup jerseys. However, one night when you can count on seeing a unique costume will be Dan Potash’s outfit on Oct. 30, the Halloween Special, and Dec. 21 against Carolina on Ugly Sweater night.

Also, I realize I’m getting old because I’m oddly excited about reusable grocery bag night.
