The Pittsburgh Penguins will send a 27-man contingent to the Prospects Challenge tournament in Buffalo that begins next weekend.

However, three of those players, including 2022 first-round draft choice Owen Pickering, are listed as injured on the roster released by the team.

The complete list of players — 16 forwards, eight defensemen and three goalies, as well as those who are injured — is here.

While Pickering is not expected to participate, the Penguins’ other two most recent first-round draft picks — forwards Brayden Yager (2023) and Sam Poulin (2019) — are. So is highly regarded goaltending prospect Joel Blomqvist.

A number of players with experience on the Penguins’ American Hockey League affiliate in Wilkes-Barre will be going to Buffalo. The include forwards Corey Andonovski, Ty Glover, Sam House, Lukas Svejkovsky, Jordan Frasca and Jagger Joshua, defensemen Jack St. Ivany and Justin Lee and goalie Taylor Gauthier.

The Penguins prospects are scheduled to play Boston next Friday at 3:30 p.m., Ottawa Sept. 16 at noon and Buffalo Sept. 18 at 5 p.m.

Games will be at the LECOM Harborcenter, near KeyBank Arena in Buffalo.

Montreal and New Jersey also are sending squads to the tournament, but the Penguins will not face them.
