PHN Extra: Should Penguins Go For it All or Keep 1st Pick?

It was a small surprise when a source close to the Penguins front office whom we’ve come to trust informed us the Pittsburgh Penguins first-round choice was in play. That certainly does not mean it will be dealt and based on his comments at the trade deadline in February, Penguins GM Jim Rutherford does place a high priority on this pick and replenishing the now depleted prospect pool. But the Penguins championship clock is ticking like Marisa Tomei’s biological clock in My Cousin Vinny.

And so Rutherford finds himself at the fork in the road.
