Pittsburgh Penguins, Adam Johnson honored, Penguins news

The NHL trade chatter died down over the weekend, though Pittsburgh Hockey Now will have a little something later Monday morning. Should Pittsburgh Penguins coach Mike Sullivan be feeling a little heat today? PHN dove into the Penguins’ issues and the angst surrounding the Penguins’ head coach in our latest Q&A. Former Penguin Adam Johnson was honored by one of his former teams Sunday after the player tragically died following being cut by a skate blade in a game Saturday. On the lighter side, the NHL threw a grand party in Edmonton, and the Heritage Classic both further doused the Calgary Flames and lifted the Edmonton Oilers. Lastly, Mike Matheson is beginning to fantasy hockey players, too.

After the football debacle on Sunday, I tried to watch TV while I pushed forward on the business front. I concluded there are far too many streaming services, little shows, and monthly subscriptions to keep track of. I haven’t seen the new Yellowstone nor the Frasier reboot because I canceled that service, but Netflix has the movies, Disney has Star Wars, and Hulu is part of my ESPN+ package but… I

f only we could invent a service that had all of the good stuff, like a network. And it could be broadcast instead of paying for it. We could even have a few of these “networks.” They could play a few commercials to make money instead of dinging my overused bank account every month and hoping I forget about it.

Yeah, I think I’m on to something big!

And here’s the stuff you want to talk about: Is Mike Sullivan’s seat getting warm? Would an assistant coach get the ax first? What about Jeff Carter’s spot in the lineup and more–the no-holds-barred Penguins Q&A.

Steelers Now

Wow. WR Diontae Johnson blamed the officials for the loss to the Jaguars, “They cost us the game.” Get the Steelers news.

A Jaguars linebacker was the latest to mock the Steelers offense as easy to read and predictable. More heat on Matt Canada.

Here’s the full breakdown to debate and discuss. The Steelers Takeaways.

I suppose we’ll get an update tomorrow on Kenny Pickett, who was slammed to the ground at the end of the first half and did not return. But don’t worry, Mitch Trubisky satisfied many’s ponderings if he would be better than Pickett. Answer: He’s not.

Pittsburgh Baseball Now:

Stay on top of the AFL and the Pirates prospects.

NHL News & National Hockey Now

Sportsnet Edmonton: Outdoor games are special. They just are. It was the battle of Alberta under the stars in Edmonton, and it may have resuscitated the Oilers season.

Was Jeff Petry for Mike Matheson the worst Ron Hextall trade? Matheson is becoming a hot commodity in fantasy hockey circles, too.

Washington Hockey Now: Hey, a winning streak in D.C. and unlikely heroes. The Washington Capitals analysis.

Philly Hockey Now: Travis Konecny was on the NHL trade block this summer. Instead, he’s off to a ridiculous start, and Owen Tippet is trying to follow along. The Philadelphia Flyers insider.

New Jersey Hockey Now: James Nichols does things a bit differently with New Jersey Hockey Now. He just dives right into the postgame analysis. The Devils finally scored first as they beat Minnesota. The New Jersey Devils analysis.

The Ontario Reign honored Adam Johnson, who also played there before leaving for the UK:
