Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby has been named the NHL’s No. 3 star for the week that ended Sunday.

Crosby had five goals, including his 13th career hat trick during a 5-3 victory in Columbus last Tuesday, and two assists in four games during the past week.

He picked up an assist in a loss to New Jersey two nights later, then scored both of the Penguins’ goals in a 4-2 defeat at Carolina last Saturday.

Crosby had an 11-game points streak snapped in the Pittsburgh Penguins’ 3-0 victory against Vegas Sunday at PPG Paints Arena. That streak was the 11th of his career to reach 10 or more games, making him just the 15th player in league history to record that many.

Colorado defenseman Cale Makar was honored as the NHL’s No. 1 star of the week, while Toronto winger William Nylander was No. 2.
