Dan’s Daily: Devils on Gibson, DeBrincat Trade, Penguins Cap Questions
For a kid who has two 40+ goal seasons in his first six years in the league, Alex DeBrincat doesn’t seem to be appreciated. The Detroit Red Wings snared DeBrincat for a song and a conditional first pick Sunday night. Speculation is running rampant that Vladimir Tarasenko will sign in Ottawa. Reports indicate the New Jersey Devils are poking around John Gibson on the NHL trade market while we try to sort through the Pittsburgh Penguins’ salary cap gymnastics.
Even after I wrote the Penguins Q&A Part II, I’ve pondered Dubas’s statement that the Penguins “internally” felt they were well under the salary cap.
