Pittsburgh Penguins, NHL trade talk, Evgeny Kuznetsov

The Washington Capitals are still chumming the NHL trade waters five weeks before the 2023-24 NHL training camps start, but instead of catching a big fish, they’re hoping to unload Evgeny Kuznetsov. The official PHN Pittsburgh Penguins top prospects list is out, and there is a new top of the list. Marc Dumont remembers the fan who crashed the Montreal Canadiens practice and other oddities. Scratch Pius Suter off your wish lists, and get ready for the New York Islanders’ one-hit wonders.

Amazingly, we’re still finding hockey stories in mid-August, but I won’t complain. It does seem I shook the Tomas Tatar tree on Saturday. Readers, I know you get mad when I stomp on something you’d like to see, but sometimes the clickbait sites that mostly appear on Facebook need to be held in check. However, after I dismantled the rumor pages, which got a lot of attention, at least one credible link popped up.

It’s still a messy possibility requiring more moves to accommodate, but I suppose it’s on the table now. You’re welcome?

And one comeback loss. In the night game, the Pirates squandered a late lead. Not a bad day at the ballpark, though.
