NHL return Pittsburgh Penguins Washington Capitals

As logistics discussions between the NHL and NHLPA continue regarding the 2020-21 NHL season, we are learning more about the inside discussions and what the Pittsburgh Penguins schedule may look like in the coming months.

High-level sources confirmed to the Hockey Now network via Colorado Hockey Now that the NHL season is likely to resemble the Major League Baseball schedule. We’ll get back to the format.

On Tuesday, the Hockey Network reported that the NHL and players expect to play their 2020-21 NHL regular-season games in their home barns. Teams in the home arenas are the strongly preferred foundation for the coming season as neither side wants to go back to a “hub” scenario as we had in the playoffs.
