The Pittsburgh Penguins sent four players back to the WBS Penguins on Wednesday. The moves were unsurprising and necessary as the taxi squads are scheduled to vanish after the All-Star Game this weekend.

The Penguins recalled forward Michael Chaput to the NHL roster on Tuesday, and he will return to WBS, as will winger Kasper Bjorkqvist. Defensemen P.O Joseph and Juuso Riikola are also headed back to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to resume their AHL season.

Injured winger Danton Heinen, who was listed as day-to-day last week, should be eligible to return after the break. According to PuckPedia.com, with the demotions and likely Heinen activation, the Penguins roster is at a full 23 players.

Since their most recent recalls, none of the four players have played in an NHL game. Bjorkqvist appeared in six games for the Pittsburgh Penguins and scored a goal. Riikola played in five games (0-1-1), and Joseph appeared in four with one assist.

The WBS Penguins face the Springfield Falcons on Wednesday night and Bridgeport on Friday.
