It won’t be easy to untangle the jumbled mess of trade rumors and decisions which formed the Pittsburgh Penguins salary cap influenced roster. The apparent facts as we know them are the Penguins were over the salary cap until Monday and according to PuckPedia.com remained over the salary cap pending a move to place Bryan Rust on LTIR.
We also know from Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan’s words that Tristan Jarry is in the NHL today at least in part, if not full, because of those salary cap concerns.
That’s about where the superficial facts stop, and the rest is left to be pieced together and figured out. There has been a lot of talk around the team and behind the scenes. Things have been a little messy, but over the past two days, Pittsburgh Hockey Now can make some educated guesses.
