Pittsburgh Penguins tickets NHL return

The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired forward Maxim Cajkovic from Minnesota for defenseman Will Butcher.

Cajkovic, 23, had one goal and two assists in five games with the Wild’s American Hockey League affiliate in Iowa this season and put up 12 goals and six assists in 20 games with the ECHL’s Iowa Heartlanders.

He is 6-foot, 201 pounds and was a third-round draft choice by Tampa Bay in 2019.

Cajkovic spent his first two pro seasons in the Lightning’s farm system, recording a total of four goals and five assists in 27 games with Syracuse of the AHL and 30 goals and 27 assists in 86 games with Orlando in the ECHL.

Butcher signed with the Penguins as a free agent last summer, but was injured during the preseason and never appeared in a game before being assigned to their farm team in Wilkes-Barre.
