Toronto NHL Hub Cities NHL Return

The NHL has not yet named the hub cities, which will house and protect 12 teams for the 24-team NHL return to play. As we’ve seen, small details can emerge, which can cause substantial shifts in just a matter of hours. Vancouver appeared to have a great chance at being an NHL hub city, perhaps supplanting Vegas as a western time zone hub. However, the B.C. provincial government resolutely stood firm on rules which treat asymptomatic persons as COVID-19 positive. The rule mandates positive individuals quarantine, so Vancouver was quickly out.

It happened quickly. So, until the NHL officially names the hub cities and until teams show up, nothing is set in stone.
