It would be a huge jump from the QMJHL Sherbrooke Phoenix to the NHL playoffs. But it wouldn’t be the first time a hotshot prospect parachuted into a team’s playoff run and made the team better. The Pittsburgh Penguins invited 2019 first-round pick, Sam Poulin, to their voluntary Phase 2 workouts and presumably Phase 3 training camp next month.

Poulin is generally considered a Black Ace candidate, but why stop there?

Why limit Poulin’s summer activities to listening, learning, and watching?

The Penguins lineup is stout and is much improved from the end of the regular season with Jake Guentzel’s improved health. However, the Penguins lineup isn’t without holes and certainly isn’t flush with widebodied wingers able to battle defenders in the dirty areas.
