Where Does Blomqvist Fit in Penguins’ Crowded Crease? (+)

It doesn’t take much effort to envision Joel Blomqvist as the Pittsburgh Penguins’ goaltender of the future.

After all, he has nice size (6-foot-2, 183 pounds), shows good on-ice instincts and has fared well during a couple of seasons in Finland’s top league.

Not a bad start to his career for a guy who is just 21 years old.

But while Blomqvist, a 2020 second-round draft choice who signed a three-year contract with the Penguins in April, is preparing for his first season in North America, there’s no need for him to go apartment-hunting in Pittsburgh just yet.

And probably not in Wilkes-Barre, either, for that matter.
