Penguins Put Ludvig on IR, Recall Shea from Wilkes-Barre

CRANBERRY — The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled defenseman Ryan Shea from their farm team in Wilkes-Barre and placed defenseman John Ludvig on injured reserve.

Shea, signed as a free agent last summer, has appeared in 22 games with the Penguins this season, but has yet to record a point.

There are no details on the nature or severity of Ludvig’s injury, but coach Mike Sullivan said after the Penguins’ 4-3 loss to Washington Tuesday night that he was being evaluated.

Ludvig has one assist in 19 NHL games in 2022-23.
