Sullivan Opens Penguins Roster Battle; Big Contrast Between Nylander & Zohorna (+)

The Pittsburgh Penguins lineup seems to have two spots open, three players, and two preseason games remaining.

In the game of roster musical chairs, likely, one of Radim Zohorna, Alex Nylander, or Jansen Harkins will be left standing when the music stops, and the organization sets its final roster ahead of the Oct. 10 season opener against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Harkins was claimed on waivers Monday and will get his first Penguins action Wednesday against the Detroit Red Wings. Zohorna and Nylander will also be in the minor-league-heavy lineup.

It should be noted that coach Mike Sullivan pushed back on PHN’s question about only three players for two spots.

“I don’t know where you’re getting your math,” Sullivan began before asserting that several spots were open and the coaching staff was keeping an open mind.
